Liam had a very rowdy but entertaining Ninja Football birthday party. I have real photos, but they are being held hostage by Angela on her camera. So enjoy this iphone shots:
Then I had to miss Liam's actual birthday (and Thanksgiving) to fly to Germany for Omi's funeral. But Jason made it special for him and took him to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate with friends. And when I got home, we went to cut down a Christmas tree.
Then sometime in December we baked sugar cookies at the Steele house. Carol even had gluten free dough prepared for me. Liam had the flu so we had to come over after everyone else had made their cookies. But we had Carol and Tim to ourselves -- so it was actually wonderful.
And later in December we decorated gingerbread houses.
And then Christmas happened.
The next exciting thing that happened after Christmas was that we went with my parents to their cabin in Blacksburg in January. We took Liam skiing at a resort nearby. He did an hour of ski school and then had enough basics under his belt to ski with Jason, Klaus, and me because it was a pretty easy resort. But I'm a big fan of learning on the east coast and then venturing west. Next year Liam has to be ready for Colorado!
Then, at the beginning of February Nora turned 3. Which is still blowing my mind right now. In true Hetzner fashion we celebrated her birthday for more than just one day. We celebrated at home, at Wednesday family dinner, and then we had a big dance party for her over at Carol and Tim's. It really was a huge party with tons of friends. I think it was a little too overwhelming for Nora. But once most of the guests had left, she got naked (her most happy state) and danced to the light of the disco ball with just her cousins. Then over pizza and left over cake we sang her happy birthday one last time -- and my mom-guilt about overwhelming her was eased. She was happy.
You know what? Time feels like its flying. In fact, the amount of time it took you to scroll through our happenings from November till February is about as quickly as I felt it flew by in real life. I can't believe I have a six and three year old. And that's it for now. I'll try to do a better job keeping up here.
