3.5.13 ~ Backfire

As part of the Ravens Football brainwashing that Jason is conducting on Liam, he told Liam that we don't like the Steelers because they steal kids' toys. This little joke has already resulted in one very interesting and somewhat uncomfortable interaction with a stranger wearing a Steelers jersey on the subway. And now today *THIS* shows up in the group chart from the Preschool Room:

Thou shalt not Steel...
Isaac was at the art table and was trying to color in a football drawing of the Steelers. When Liam saw it, he said that [the Steelers are bad guys because they steal toys from children]. Isaac insisted that they were not..
Liam: YES THEY DO! (louder voice)
Isaac: NO THEY DON'T!
Tran: Where did you hear that?
Liam: My dad told me that the Steelers are bad because they steal toys from children.
Tran said to Isaac that perhaps Liam's dad told him that because they are Ravens fans in the family.
Isaac: They only play football.
As the two boys continued to debate whether the Steelers were bad ("No, they're not" and "Yes, they are"), Tran explained that there are two meanings to the word "steel" (steal). One is to take something away. The other is to work with steel, which is a strong material.
After some further deliberation, Liam said, "They're joking. They're joking when they're stealing."
William: Yea. They only steal in the story, not in real life.
Isaac smiled, and the boys laughed together.
