This semester has been a little crazy because during one of our
two home days (we typically do three days of school and two days at home), I am currently teaching a class. This means I
spend the morning frantically preparing a lecture and the afternoon frantically
lecturing the lecture. Meanwhile, Nora and Liam are at home with Erica, the
greatest babysitter of all time. She had her work cut out for her in the
beginning because Liam was not stoked about having a sitter. If you are an
adult and you have met Liam then you know he is slow to warm around grownups. But warm he did.
It took about three weeks (and a little bit of bribery) for Erica to win him
over. But now that she has, she and Liam have a really sweet bond (her bond
with Nora was a given since she is also a teacher in Nora’s classroom at
school). Liam looks forward to her coming over and talks about her even when she isn't there. Aside from making friends with Liam the ice queen, she is also the greatest
sitter ever because she does cute, fun activities with the kids. Today they set out
to purchase pumpkins and then came home to paint them. Erica shared a little
video, which I will now share with you. The quality is only eh since said
sharing happened via text. But you’ll get the picture. And in case you miss it –
the take away message is that Liam’s painted pumpkin has ears and more than the
regular number of eye balls.
